Where do I find, the engine block water petcock to drain the engine of
water???

1997 ford explorer 6 cyl. engine.

The Ford CD for 1997 shows a drain plug for only the 5.0L V8 engine. Nothing
is mentioned about draining the V6 block in the Drain and Refill procedure
section. Only the Radiator. Strange. Must be a way, right?

Have you looked on both sides of the engine block below the heads, if
present it will not look like any type of petcock or valve it's just a
threaded plug with a bolt-like head, you may even see some sealer
around it usually reddish in color. As an FYI my factory manuals do
mention the block drain plug for the V6
