!994 caravan 3.3L 4 speed automatic 182,000 miles

IT has been jumping to limp mode very frequently the last couple weeks. I
discovered today that if I turn off the overdrive, the problem does not happen.
Does anyone have any ideas about what this info might tell me about the problem?

I have changed the pan screen/fluid, checked the speed sensors tightened the
battery cables and added an extra ground strap to the chassis.

Is the van throwing any codes? If so what/when?

It doesn't seem to be, at least none I can get through the key switch method. It
is the early code system, so the device they have at the car parts places can't
get to the detailed transmission codes.

Go to a transmission shop and have them scan it. Even if they charge you
it will likely be money well spent for the time saved and unneeded parts
bought.

do not listen to these ****ing communist people.
the dam thing, is run by the computer of the transmission,
that has to do with the overdrive. So you have , faulty software.
Why do you need to scan it, I will tell why, because they want you to,
go give them money for doing so, when it will not fix a dam thing.

Its a fact, that zillions of caravan owners, are with numerous problems
that the dam things, will not even run because of that transmission
computer, and also the main brain computer, for they both talk to each
other, which is the largest crock of **** I ever saw anyone ever make.

It is communist thievery, and it is time, to kill these *******s that
sell you this ****. For I am serious about the numerous problems, so
many that, even in the junk yards, you can find numerous caravans, all
piled up, that have not one thing wrong with the body on them. So if
your need of body parts, that will never be a problem. For you
certainly would not the dealer for that. In my opinion, you dont need
them for anything. Its time to delete the Dodge dealer, and you would
be surprised, for the others are made much of them, the same way.

Get rid of the caravan. What will happen is eventually it will not
start, after it dies on you somewhere. And get something that has
manual transmission with a clutch. For changing the software, does not
work, people have already been forking out all kinds of money doing
that, and it does absolute nothing for they are back with the same
problem later again afterwards. Someone should of stopped this
communism long ago about the car dealers. Thieves. All they need in
them, is a set of points, and a real distributor. And a transmission
that does not use a computer to shift gears with to over drive, like the
button on the stick shift works just fine instead.
It is the same thing as stealing, and that is exactly how, God the
Father Almighty sees it. A real mess this is. If you buy anything,
make certain it is like, the old ones were built. Cause its way better
for you to get an older model and pay for the antique, then to pay to
have these new communist wi fi controled computers in your cars that
anyone, can turn off, because, that is how the new ones are made now.
We have a 98, and it is with the same problem you were speaking of, then
it stopped, and will not start. We opened the timing cover, and the
belt and marks were all ok... Imagine, a engine that is just fine, and
will not run. Sicko Dodge Dealer. Same as in, Sicko every kind of
brand name car and truck made now. all made the same way, even the
Durango, the Jeep, many, are all made of the same computers in them.
