Default Passing On The Right - Causes Of

I take state Rt 15(Merritt Pkwy) to work everyday, and observed something that made me think: 'Is the right lane the new left?'

Drivers are whipping around other drivers in the left lane, nearly taking my nose off in the process!(I'm in the RH lane)
In other words, so many drivers have occupied the left lane of this parkway that it has become more congested than the right!.

And how, on roads similar to the Merritt, can the widely accepted European method of KRETP(keep right except to pass) ever be revived here in Anything-Goes-Land?

pass, you pass on the right.

OTOH, I don't have a problem with it. I can do it just fine, and
safely. "

I do! Where the F are the troopers who are supposed to enforce rules of the road?! Like K.R.E.T.P.!

Or manufacturing "probable cause" and engaging in civil forfeiture
proceedings.

(I wish this newsgroup was a bit more active ...)

Yes.

Anybody have any ideas about fixing my 1988 Eldorado window? It runs
halfway down and then stops with a grinding/ratcheting noise. Same
thing when I close it all the way. I really don't want to take the
panel off. I've done it before with a different car and it ended badly.

I wonder if anything will be different now that the Republicans own the
senate.

California is screwed no matter what.

Will ALL the Sons of Anarchy be dead by the end of this season? What
about Gemma?

It is very active Arif - just look at the percentage of posts by sexual perverts and self-proclaimed political pundits(Bev). You can blame things like Facebook & Twitter for the rest of Usenet's demise.

Back on topic: I think more of us need to make a conscious effort to drive in the right-hand-most lanes of our highways, forcing passers to pass where it is legal to.

That might require leaving an extra 5-10 min early for work, but it would drive the point home for those think they can pass in any lane they choose(including breakdown/shoulders!).

Its completely legal to pass on the right on interstates most places.
That law was repealed in the late 60's or early 70's. That's why no
cops are writing tickets over it. "

I'll show your reply to the next state or local cop I walk into and see what they think.

Until then I'm giving this one a wiiiide berth.
