Default 98 Civic alarm...

A friend has a 98 Civic LX with honda's alarm. He opens the
car with the key, instead of the remote. The alarm goes off.
Now he can't reset the alarm, with both original keys and
remote. He removes the horn's fuse to mute the alarm. We
can't seem to disable the alarm with the remotes nor keys.
He can't start the car so he could sell it.

I haven't seen his manual, because it's at his work. He says
there is no reference to the alarm in the manual.
Any idea?

both remotes have lights flashing during use. Too rainy atm to
mess with the car.

it takes a much smaller amount of juice to light an LED than it does to
transmit a signal to the brainbox in the car. the battery might be
toast, especially if its the original from '98

Is it a factory alarm?? I may be confused due to being in
canada, here LX is the bare nuts version that has no
factory alarm. I installed aftermarket starter/alarm
combo and hooked up aftermark lock actuators to it.

Maybe next time i will just buy a friggin car with all that
**** in it already.... lol i'm so cheap

it's factory. Never seen such weird behavior.
