Excessive speed blamed in fatal Magnolia crash

Authorities believe excessive speeding is to blame for the fiery southwest
Montgomery County crash that killed five and injured two others Saturday.

The driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound on SH 249 in
Magnolia at "an extremely high rate of speed," when the car collided at
about 11:44 a.m. with a Toyota van turning onto the highway from Patridge
Circle, authorities said.

"The driver of the van probably never saw it coming," said Sgt. Angela
Fountain with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Four of the five family members traveling in the van were killed.

"This is devastating for this family," Fountain said.

If this killer had used a gun, he'd get the death penalty but this guy will
just do a couple years at most - "hey dood, it was an accident".

See? The authorites make no mention of the speed limit (in what I
read) thus impkying that the driver was 'going too fast for conditions
- the Safety Professipnals definition of speeding.

Care to join us in using this definition?
Or will you speak with that meaningless (except to the auditor$)
definition of the word in relation to figures on a sign or in the rule
book.?
