Won’t Start When Warm
’80 Rabbit 1600 CIS starts fine when cold, but it won’t start warmed
up unless I use starting fluid. Runs fine once it starts. Seems temperature related, but I’m stumped. -- Posted at author's request, using http://www.AutoBoardz.com interface Articles individually verified to usenet standards. Bad Control Pressure regulator. If nothing else try cleaning the crud
out of the inlet screen. Your fuel pressure guage should confirm. On Mon, 05 Mar 2007 05:31:16 GMT, wascalwabbit > wrote: >’80 Rabbit 1600 CIS starts fine when cold, but it won’t start warmed >up unless I use starting fluid. Runs fine once it starts. Seems >temperature related, but I’m stumped. |

Won't Start When Warm
Again a typical case of vapour lock. Fuel pressure drops off too quickly.
First look for any fuel leaks. Second remove fuel pressure control valve from the fuel distributor. Look for worn o-rings on it. Fuel pressure should be at least 14psi for about 20min after shut down. SFC "Jim Behning" > schreef in bericht ... > Bad Control Pressure regulator. Won't Start When Warm
Correct troubleshooting. I would remove the fuel injectors. Install
the fuel pressure guage. Jumper the fuel pump. Purge the air from the injectors. Unplug the jumper wire and watch the residual pressure as per the Bentley. Watch the injectors for drips.
