Starting tomorrow, people ticketed for speeding 85MPH+ on interstates
or 75MPH+ on secondary roads will be hit with an additional US$200.00
fine by the state courtesy or our REPUBLICAN legislature and
REPUBLICAN governor.

True to republican subterfuge, the legislature and governor claim the
money is for, "trauma centers," when in reality it will go into the
general fund to be doled out to pet projects as the legislature sees
fit and the bill of goods was sold to the sheeple of this state as a,
"safety," issue.

If it were really about safety, they would give, "super speeders," 10
days in jail and not an additional US$200.00 tax.

Speedie, you'd better stay away....

So this law means that 76mph through a main business district in the
middle of the day is as dangerous as 86mph on an empty interstate at
3am?

Nothing like idiot government office holders and gullible compliant
public.

It is all about the money. They seem to be following Britain's socialist
nightmare closely.
Republican label doesn't mean anything.
A little berg, not too far away, is installing numerous traffic cameras.
The discussion was about raising money for several pet projects. I don't
think speed enforcement was ever mentioned.
They dropped the speed limits in another town, in some areas, from 40
mph and 45 mph to 35 mph to aid in revenue production by the camera
traffic company.
Their favorite haunts are down hill four lanes where the natural speed
is probably 50 mph. New 35 mph signs are there now.
One fixed location notes every passing vehicle' license plate, in a
database. There was talk of selling the data to marketing firms etc.
Our governments are perverted or corrupted.
State Legislators want to ban these traffic camera operations. They are
being lobbied heavily by the Camera Companies and local governments.
It looks like the Camera Companies and greedy corrupted local
politicians might have the money and influence to get their bounty.
The People be damned.

from another ng
The natural sped on rural wide open interstates and other roads is way
more, in excess of 10 mph over.
This is a blatant perversion, of Law, to raise money.
The label Republican means corrupted fund raiser, apparently.
I doubt we ever hit 80 mph in the mh ever, even on a steep grade.
The intent of the Eisenhower Interstate System was high speed to 100 mph
cross country roadways based on the Autobahn.
Every time my wife drives she is repeatedly flipped off, and short
passed, even in the right lane because she only goes 80 or so.
Everyone needs to send fund raiser Purdue a note.
75 is about like 55 on a Montana road some times.
Little Hondas and everything else especially vans, on the way, to
Florida, are all over 75 mph.
The only ones poking along are Atlanta city scapers who drive maybe a
thousand miles a year.
I don;t imagine any of these People being reelected next term.

"Big Brother" is more a DemocRAT affectation, not Repub.
DemocRATs/"Progressives"(actually REgressives) are the ones against free
speech;they support restrictive campus "speech codes" and "free
speech zones",shout down conservative speakers so they can't be heard, throw
pies at conservatives to silence them, and support "Fairness Doctrines" that
stifle free speech.

Oh,and don't forget about the Obama Administration's throwing reporters off
the campaign plane and refusing interviews because the network or reporter
"offended them". then there's Obama's "enemies list",and their use of the
Internet to compile a database on those who speak out against them on
blogs.

then there's the control they're trying to grab by Cap and Trade,
environmental policies and regs, all for Obama's "redistribution of wealth".

But the "progressives" are too BLIND and biased to recognize the
much greater threat to freedom that the DemocRATs are.

In short, yes.

Yep. "Idiot government office holders," describes Sonny Perdue and the
GA legislature perfectly. Ditto, "gullible public."

No, they are pretty equal. They both expand "big brother" in their own
special ways but do not roll back what the others did.

I agree this is mostly about money but what's wrong with that?. I'd rather
make the criminals pay than have my taxes raised. Make the fine $2000.

Why coddle criminals esp ones that kill innocent ppl.?

• It would cost the taxpayers more than $200
to keep them in jail for 10 days
