You mean when the local police call and tell you YOUR car has been found at the scene of an accident? You mean when YOU get 15% of what it was worth in a write off? You are MUCH better off selling it private party then EVER donating it!!! Do the math..KBB says the car in fair condition is worth $3000. You get a tax write-off of around $450...... Sell it quickly for HALF of the book for $1500!!! You take home $1050 MORE than your write-off AND you notify your local state DMV who you sold it to. DONATING A CAR TO A CHARITY IS ****ING STUPID!!!!! |

Not only do you get a call that YOUR car just caused an accident, you then get served with a lawsuit, because the charity failed to transfer title to themselves. Happens a lot. Have seen the stories on the mainstream media. On the other had, how do you know that a private party you sell it to is every going to moter vehicle and get the paperwork done correctly to transfer ownership? > > > > |
