GTR registration
Hello,
I am unable to create an account when using the multiplayer mode. On the other hand, on my serial number card, it is indicated that I have to register on gtr-game.com website first but I don't see anything like registration procedure. If I move into GTR game and try the registration knob in multi player mode, I get no confirmation that my account has been created and login fails. Who can help? Thanks Erick |

In your DVD-Cover, you will find enclosed a paper with a specific
online-registration-code. Use this to register for internet-racing. If I remember correctly, I thought I first registered through the GTR site on the web and then went inside the game and verified. I know that you have to do this registering bit for each difficulty level. Still, once again, this convoluted process is another example of a game that is as unpolished and unintuitive as I have seen. Nice game with good physics (though I still believe LFS' physics are better) but a terrible interface. Alanb |

I can't find a thing. It's amazing, that when you click on "support", you get all the hard stuff in the FAQ, like "How do I view my FPS in the game?". The easy stuff, like "How do I register my game in order to play online?", is left out completely. I did a search on the forums for the word "register" and a few things came up, but no one seemed to have a satisfactory response to how to register. I think the makers of GTR were too busy considering their pocketbooks, rather than making a game that was intuitive and getting their ducks in a row. Now they are working on GTL, so the likelihood of getting any help is going to be nil. This is another thing that makes LFS a better game-- good support. Go to the LFS forums and you'll find help all over the place. It appears, however, that with GTR the feeling is-- "Hey, we got your money. Now leave us alone!" Myself, I won't be rushing to get Legends until I see how the game pans out-- if they've improved the interface, multiplayer, and basic support. Simbin is an overall bad production. Alanb |

Thanks for your help Alan.
I will keep searching but I completely agree with your point of view. Best regards, Erick "Alan Bernardo" > wrote in message ... > > "Erick" > wrote in message > ... > > True! In the US release, there was the game registration number printed on the inside label of the cd Jewel case. And then a card which resembled a CREDIT CARD for online registration. Now I 'thought' a single registration online would suffice, but you have to enter that key EACH TIME you log on. Totally odd. I am currently putting all my offline racing in GTR. I have one more endurance race to drive in this fall and that will be the end of my GTP/TPTCC Papy based racing. rFactor most likely will grab my time later, but right now...it's GTR. The short burst races of the original LFS never really grabbed me. I can say, the last time I sampled it, it was very well done. GTR's interface doesn't faze me one bit. It's all the previous ISI titles just re-arranged slightly. If the interface is the sim's greatest criticism, then I won't be sniping at Simbin. However, it is a shame they did not get ISI's latest multiplayer improvements...which, we are not even sure yet will fully overcome all of ISI's historical online problems. time will tell. dave henrie |

Yes but for online registration via the multiplayer menu, I am only asked to
enter a login, a password and my email address. Never am I asked to enter the code mentioned on my "credit card".... I bought the German version last November, and then got
the USA version about 2 months ago. Although I was able to use the new cd-rom serial number to install the USA version, I had to use my original German online serial number for online play on my account. Once I entered this serial number, I didn't have to enter it again. I don't understand why GTR decided to use two different serial numbers for just one game. |

I think that when the previous poster alluded to having to enter a password over and over, he was speaking of online, where you have to enter your name and password each time you log in. That, of course, is silly. Overall, GTR, as far as experimenting with the interface and other processes in the game, was just a trial run. Nothing was very logical. From what I can see in GTL, things are much better. It's as if before there were a bunch of impulsives working on the game, but now these have been replaced by the contemplatives. Alanb |
