The slippery slope of driver licensing is not imginary but quite real as
we now face the implementation of the Real ID act on top of everything
else prior.

In the chicago area they pick cars apparently at 'random' (haha) and then
demand the driver's papers.

That reminds me, I need to carry my passport with me. I didn't have it
the weekend I got caught in one of these things. If they want to play
gestapo / KGB I need to be able to play my role correctly

I can't argue with that tactic. Wasting the time of a cop who would otherwise
be writing traffic violations? Great stuff, I suggest the state do
more of it!

It's hard to recognize the slope when you have your head buried firmly
in the shifting sand.
