Default I am having trouble replacing the Ignition switch in my 71SB

I am having trouble replacing the Ignition switch in my 71SB. I have
gotten the old electrical part out (of the steering lock mechanism(by
breaking it)) but I have had no luck removing the old lock cylinder (from
the steering lock mechanism. Any advice? do I need to buy a new steering
lock?

The key is the flat steel spring inside which has to
be depressed (you're probably already depressed:-(

The man is a saint, it must be said. It's a good thing I don't live in Cleveland because I'd probably suck up to him
constantly for great advice and info!
