I've paid no tax since I retired, be careful of your secondary income
and you can get under the wire. I was audited a few years back after I
turned 70 1/2 because I didn't take out enough the first year it was
required, about 4% of your total nest egg. Audit was 2 years late so
it had interest and a fine attached. Tax man talked them out of the
whole thing because of all the errors in IRS's calculations.

The C6 just turned 40K this last weekend, need to drive it more. ;-))

My '92 had over 90K on it in 4 1/2 years, and the most fun was driving
my '04 coast to coast and back in 16 days.

When I reread what I wrote, it sounded like I have a C6. I don't. I just
like them, and would like to have one. But, I'm happy with the 40th. :-)
It was a daily driver for years, but since I retired, it doesn't get
driven enough.

I have a pension and investments, so I'm not going to get under any
wires. in fact, I have to send an estimated tax payment in a few days.
But thanks for the thought.

Not only an incredibly old "reaching" article, and then you follow up
with what can only be described as pathetic ignorance.

Don't do it.. Or maybe I should say judge for yourself if you're a
Vette man. Vette is the trailer trash sports car. Get something with
some class. People will urinate on your sad car while you're in
walmart shopping for your trailerpark girlfriend's birthday gift and a
can of turtlewax.

If you've got some maturity and class and are capable of getting top
notch pussy regardless of the car you drive, get a lexus or bimmer or
porsche.

I may actually be interested in buying a new Corvette. A smaller, higher
revving, variable overhead cam design with direct fuel injection may be in
order for 2014. The present C6 has a neanderthal pushrod V-8 and a horrible
interior. Also the looks are gaudy.

I hope the 2014 brings the average age of the Corvette driver down to age
70. I am considerably less than that age and do not want to be seen driving
'an old man's car'.

Things sure have changed. I first owned a Vette back in 1969 when I was USAF
Capt and under 30. In fact, there were quite a few Lts driving them in
those days, but they usually were in flying status.

Also add to the fact that GM talked the government into ****ing away
perfectly good cash to cover for GM's management stupidity and it is really
a reach for me to want to buy any GM vehicle these days.

I think I will keep driving my 64 convertible. Back then, GM wasn't the
joke of a car company that it is now.

If you like lexus, prosche, BMW, buy them and enjoy it. Everyone has a
different preference. I have to laugh, yeah I did not buy my first
vette until I was in my 50s...Family priorities took precendence you
might say but I do enjoy my 2008 coupe.

No I bought it used but it is mine and I
like to drive it and keep it looking good.

I am no technical type I just always admire them and wanted to have
one. That simple.

Yes I think it would be nice to see the vette brought forward with
something new and innovative. Sure I have my peevs over the
interior..(I do have them over my 2010 Camaro as well and my 2008 Ford
Escape) and sometimes reliability has bugged me but that has not
dampened my enthusiasm yet to the point of being done with the
America's sports car.

I would suggest that I would like to see the next gen vette to be a
bit of a retro look. I am thinking the 68-73 early C3s. I still think
they were a classically great style.
