Default They're Pretty Dumb in the SE, Too...

What makes you think the wreck wasn't caused by someone heading home to the
northeast?

To be honest, that Intersection has been a problem for years. The NC DMV
keeps working on it, but it seems a lot of people can't figure out whether
they want to go to Raleigh or Richmond and change thier mind about a minute
too late.
