318ti stalling problem
Hi guys,
wife's 03 model, manual, 70K km, is stalling & chocking at low rev's. Mostly when its first started. We are in Australia, mornings are not that cold. It becomes very dangerous, specially when you stalls at the intersection. Did try different types of fuels from 95 to 98. Got the dealer looked at it and recons its well known problem with this model. Dealer at one occasion changed all the coils & plugs only about 5K km ago. Could anyone from this knowledgeable group give some opinions, please? cheers jerry |

318ti stalling problem
More likely to be a vacuum leak caused by a cracked or badly seated air
hose. I'd also think about cleaning the idle control valve and checking it's wiring. I had a 318i M40 do the same thing, it turned out to be a badly adjusted throttle position switch (free fix). Bosch "specialist" said it needed a new airflow meter ($$$$$). > wife's 03 model, manual, 70K km, is stalling & chocking at low rev's. > Mostly when its first started.
