Things that make you go "aw, f**k it."
Spotted today on the DC Beltway (Maryland side, between Kenilworth and
College Park motorcycle cop signals left lane change, however, he is traveling about 10 MPH slower than traffic to the left of him. Driver in passing lane does not slow down to let cop in, which is understandable as there's a huge space behind him. Cop pulls behind driver in LH lane and gives a brief squawk of siren and waves. Driver pulls over to the right, words are exchanged (I couldn't tell what, but I'm sure it was something along the lines of "why didn't you let me in.") With cops this "courteous" it's no wonder everyone else drives like **** around here. I wasn't real impressed with the cop's riding, either - even though he was an older guy, he rode like he'd never been on a bike before, real "darty" and not smooth at all. But it is hard to hold that against him, he *might* have been new to riding. nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |

Cops tend to be real pricks if you stand up to their rude behavior on the road. As I learned with one my first encounters with an IL state trooper. They pulled all the way over from the L lane to the R shoulder and still exchanged words within your sight...?! > With cops this "courteous" it's no wonder everyone else drives like **** > around here. Duh. He's a ****in' cop. When he signals, you let him in. > I wasn't real impressed with the cop's riding, either - even though he > was an older guy, he rode like he'd never been on a bike before, real > "darty" and not smooth at all. I imagine he might feel more "visible" riding "erratically". ----- - gpsman |

Cops everywhere are terrible drivers and that is part of the reason why the
people drive as if they are the only one on the road. I have seen cops, bus drivers and trucks break the laws we had to remember for the driving test. We need to stop them. The cops wont ! I know it's not going to be easy and it will take a while...but we need to do it. The more good drivers out there the rest will follow. I made a sign and put it in my rear window stating " WAGE WAR AGAINST TAILGATERS " adding the phone # of the public and safty commission of my state. My be they will get an abundant amount of calls and do something. Tailgating causes most of the accidents on the road. HELP THE CAUSE. I think you actually criticized someone for something similar recently although I didn't actually pick up on it within that video. It's more obvious on a bike though as the whole bike shifts a degree or so when the rider "bobbles." nate -- replace "fly" with "com" to reply. http://home.comcast.net/~njnagel |
