forced induction options for 88 spider quad???
I've been noticing a bunch of turbo and s/c options for the current
alfas which got me to thinking about the possibility of supercharging my trusty '88 spider quad. Its gone about 62K mi / 100K klm and recently had all rubber replaced, motor mounts, trany mount, front & rear suspention steering, most engine seals, tires, etc. It drives great, looks even better, but could use a little extra umph. The engine still has 95% of spec compression and all cylinders are very well ballanced. I'm not looking for any more than say 6psi. The engine bay is pretty tight but it seems like I could remove the A/C compressor and run a belt driven s/c from that point quite readily. Or I could remove the box air filter, relocare the air meter and run it on that side and keep my A/C in tact. I know anything is possible, I have a 72 TR-6 with a 6 spd tranny, LSD, EFI and a 11-13 psi s/c, but for the alfa I was hoping someone out in cyberspace might know of or remember a bolt on kit for my car. Thanks for any insights or leads! Jim |
