Isuzu Direct Injection Engine
Now that all Isuzus are basically GM clones (No more Trooper, Rodeo,
Axiom, Amigo) what has happened to the Isuzu 75 Degree Direct Injection engine? I read great reviews about the smooth 250 horsepower, the high torque at low RPMs and the decent fuel milage. I own a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo LS with 4X4 and I love it. It has 207,000 miles and still runs strong. I give food and clothes to the needy in Tijuana, Mexico, and I have a comfortable ride from Los Angeles county to the Mexican border and then use the Low Range 4X4 on grades that seem like 30 degrees or more on unpaved roads to get to the needy people. Then I go into downtown Tijuana, get it washed, cross the border and have a comfortable ride back home. I simply can't imagine doing that on the 1994 Chevrolet Blazer, GMC Jimmy or Oldsmobile Bravada clones (did I miss any?). Not with 207,000 miles. |
