Default 1997 dodge ram 2500 4x4 headlight issues

this truck has 177,700 miles. i have not put a dime into this truck
(except oil,gas,tires,brake pads).
recently at night the low beams have turned off when the directionals
are used.
the lights will stay off for a minute-to -days--- the highbeams will
still turn on.
i changed the bulbs. i checked the fuses and circuit relays....there
all ok.

got any ideas ?

headlights are on.
i turn on the blinker and the low beams turn off
they will not turn back on.
when they are good and ready they ligth up again !!!

i have a set of strong old fasion trucker aux head lamps under the
front bumper.

Check the grounds for head light circuit. THe clue here is turn signal
effects them. When a vehicle looses a ground it can do all sorts of
strange things electrically.
