Default GTR menu freeze?

Hi!

Anybody solved menu freeze in GTR?

Its great game, I bought Momo Wheel just for this game,
but its really annoying to hard reset computer every time it freezes....

I have looked on the forums, read everything, and nothing helps...

The first time I enter the game, everything is ok, the race ,no matter how
long (2 hours race no problem), runs smooth, no lockups... So I think its
not a performance problem regarding my computer configuration....

Then when I go back in the main menus to select another car or race, it
freezes....

Please help... My "Momo" cryes river of tears.......

Thnx very much!

Ivan

Now I have installed all the patches, ending with ver. 1.5.....
Latest drivers for my devices....and...nothing.....

Tryed the game in between each upgrade (1.0 to 1.2,1.2 to 1.3,1.3 to 1.4,1.4
to 1.5)
and everytime the game run normal the first race ,and then back in the game
main menu-Freeze.....

Im very dissapointed with game developers not giving any feedback regarding
this problem, because there is alot of
people with the same anoying thing....

I will try to reinstall windows and everything from scratch, if that doesnt
help I will throw my Game
through the window!

You would be much better off posting on a specialist forum like
racesimcentral or bhmotorsports. Even the gtr-game site has it's own forum
where you'll find much more detail about problems and their solutions.

I'm curious how much RAM you have. GTR EATS resources. It almost sounds
like your swap file isn't getting emptied and reset when you exit a track.

Some firewalls like Zone Alarm can cause slow loading and freezing. Try
disabling any firewall and see if it helps.

No help. I tryed to disable even SP2 firewall, and nothing....

As I mentioned, it freezes even on the fresh from scratch installed windows
with only GTR installed besides latest drivers....

I would be feeling much happier if we both could enjoy the game without
freezes! :-(

Default GTR menu freeze?

Lets say, this is a partial solution! But works for me....

First of all,dont laugh :-)

I changed my settings to 1024x768, 2x AA,2xAF,32 bit....
(was 800x600,16bit,no AA,no AF)
I also opened up the config file and enter the value for memory to 1024
(have 512 MB of ram)
Upgraded the game to ver. 1.5

And what i have got....

The game doesnt freeze at all before the first race in the menues. I can go
through all the menues
as long I want...The 3 hour race is not a problem without any stuttering...
Going back to garage, doing some setup stuff, and all the menues and options
in the garage work well and there is no Freeze-menu-effect...

But when I exit the garage to main menu to select, another car, race or mode,
the game freezes, lets say every second or third time...

BUT THERE IS THE TRICK THAT WORKS FOR ME (hope for somebody else to)

After I finish the race, I go straight out of the game (back button in left
corner), my setup and race is saved and I can get of the game without
Menu-Freeze, click on the game icon, start the game again and play another
race without problems.....

BUT DONT CLICK ANY OTHER BUTTON THEN "BACK" TO GET OUT OF THE GAME....

Totaly, 30 second lost and NO HARD RESET!!!

I said at the beginning,I was desperate so DONT LAUGH! :-)

Hope this helps someone else to...

Cheers!
