But I make up for it when "swapping boards" doesn't fix it, and have to figure it out. Then it nets me about $15 an hour. But it evens out. I figure average of $22 an hour. |

That is a wildly inflated amount, which includes among other things the infrastructure cost that government has to spend when new people move into an area (schools, roads, sewers, police). Of course it is ridiculous to claim that this is a gift to Toyota since all of these things are funded by property and sales taxes paid by the employees who move there, and are incurred when any new resident moves to the town. When it comes to the truth and liberals, there is only an accidental relationship. The big lie is their modus operandi. |

No, when the property tax, sewer tax and water rates are raised to pay for infrastructure to accommodate the factory and people moving into the area, *all* people pay the increased rates. If you already have a job and don't get a higher paying job at the new factory, all you get out of the deal is higher taxes and more congestion. The real estate developers, land owners and politicians are the big beneficiaries. |

I would figure if it comes from more than one source, it must be accurate. Figure it out: $28+ per hour, medical, dental, life insurance and pension. |

Who might that be? I wouldn't say it's a 'monopoly on intelligence'. I'd say it's more 'common sense', 'trying to do what's best for all', and most of all, 'keeping power away from the k00ks.' Looks like the country definitely lost the fight on the last item with this last election... |

I alluded to that when I said a bigger paycheck=more tax paid. Seems to have gotten lost somewhere, All that seems to register is "Race to the bottom"... |

See, we have a LOT of people here that think like you. Even though no one has started a new farm in 30 years, they turned down turning 55 acres of land on the edge of town into an industrial office/call center because we need to keep arm land. Um, why? The only 'farms' that get started around here are roadside tomato stands. We aren't quite the 'breadbasket of the world' here... Progress actually moves backwards here (there's an oxymoron for you). The small thinking people here make sure nothing happens. As a result, we are in a constant recession here, people have to take minimum wage jobs because there isn't anything else, and welfare is the biggest employer in the area. Can't even have a decent shopping center because of these idiots http://www.sprawl-busters.com/ An International Clearinghouse on Big Box Anti-Sprawl Information No matter what the logo on the building says--Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Target, Lowe's, Kohls, CVS--if its unwanted development, Sprawl-Busters can help you stop it. In hundreds of communities, we have helped citizens groups strategize and carry out a plan to stop the superstores. Victories: East Longmeadow, MA Easthampton, MA Greenfield, MA Hadley, MA Lancaster, MA Lee, MA Boy, sure am glad they were victorious! In order to go to a discount store I have to drive 20 miles out of my way. If the local 'department store' doesn't have it (and chances are they won't) I waste my time going out of town. Not only that, but they squawk about getting off foreign oil, but when someone proposes a wind farm, OH NO!!! You'll spoil the view! You'll kill birds! The week after the company finally gave up and went further west in the state, the morons were out on the twon common with their stupid little signs, "End dependence on foreign oil!" "We need clean energy now!" Great Making It Here (streamimg video) | Oct 13 | Hike with Llamas, Wood Carving, Wind Power 13 Oct 2008 04:00:00 GMT We also will explore wind power in Heath, MA and Searsburg, VT with the people from Green Mountain Power. I can't find any references to the outcry that went out, but the meatheads around here successfully sent the wind power company packing. Please, Toyota, move here! PLEASE!!! |
