The same sort of union problems we have for self-pumped gas? >YOu are pessimistic in believing oil is going to run out. Its not going to run out, its just going to go to $7.50 a gallon, and then go up from there. Electricity will be a harder thing to do that way. If you try it, the guy paying $300 for house electric right now would have his bill go up to maybe $600, or $900 / month. You think there wouldn't be a revolution if that happened? People wouldn't be able to afford to heat, and esp. cool in the summer, which is even more devistating in the South. There's limits to how high electricity can go without people getting really PO'ed about it. Then heads roll in the statehouse and in the US congress. That crap ain't ever gonna happen. Cap and Trade ain't gonna happen now already, due to the election a couple days ago, and electricity will not get all that expensive, either. If Electricity went up by 3X, fueling electric cars would STILL be cheaper than fueling a regular car. |

The battery uses "KOLIBRI AlphaPolymer Technology", which might indicate it's a LiPo of some sort. (Or it might just be marketing noise.) Nice things about LiPos are their high energy density and the fact that you can shape them any way you want. But packing a car full of LiPos to achieve a distance record is a far cry from making a practical electric car to achieve those distances. -- The problem with socialism is there's always someone with less ability and more need. |
