1940's drive thru downtown LA

Many of you will find this an interesting 6 minutes. It's the
Background process plate produced for use in feature films, shot from
an automobile driving through Bunker Hill and downtown Los Angeles.

I think that means this was what you saw in the background when they
did rear screen projection of people who are supposedly driving a car.
there looks to be the same car purposely following them quite a bit of
the time so I would guess the main film this was shot for included a
plot line of someone being followed.
