Any comments pro or con regarding the 2003 Ford Escape? What
experiences, good or bad, have you had?
What about the 4 cyclinder engine, does it have enough power for a
hiily area or towing a small 12ft. boat?
I would appreciate any comments you have, thanks.

We've had an 03 Ford escape since August 2002, 6 cyl, XLT, I've had 5
cars, 3 trucks, and a jeep in my 30 years of driving, the Escape is by far
the best in comfort, standard options, and so far reliabilty, unstoppable in
the snow, on factory tires. But since you are asking in a 4x4 group, I'll
have to say it's not an off road vehicle, no lo range, doubt it would stand
up in the bush, that's what my CJ is for.

I agree.. My neighbor has a 04 escape and decided to try to follow me
in my 01 cherokee... No contest I was sick of tow strapping him after
about 2 miles of trail.... on the road it rides nice.. just stay away
from any kind of dirt

First Jeep Jamboree we went to the vehicle that impressed us the most was
the cherokee, and since this was 2002 jam I would suspect it was about an
01, stock, it followed the CJs, YJs, and two Rubicons all day, also one of
only two out of 8 vehicles that tried one trail that made it without being
winched.
Of all the vehicles we tried when test driving and buying the Escape, my
regret was not trying the cherokee, which was on sale for about 3 grand more
then our Escape.
