is there an easy way to replace the starter on a '93 100s(easy, meaning
without lifting the engine out. |

while it's true that it's not on top of the engine and fastened with velcro, if it's anything like my 5ktq, then you can easily pull it out with the front of the car on ramps and removing the 2 bolts (one of which is a "T-bolt") and associated wires. Be careful not to touch the hot wire against anything - it's best to unhook the battery to avoid an accidental arc and associated electrical component damage. It will all be explained in the Bentley Manual, which you can get from the "Usual Suspects" (eBay, Audiworld, Dealer, etc.) Cheers!
