Amen. With me, you're preaching to the choir. As more research is
completed it is becoming increasingly clear that CO2 levels have little
impact on warming. Other things like the solar cycle, water vapor etc.
have a much greater impact. The whole global warming scam is how the
wacko environmentalists thought they could bend us to their will by
using their typical environmental doomsday scenarios. algore has found
a way to profit beyond his wildest dreams. He didn't run for president
this time because he is too busy getting filthy rich from scamming the
public. He doesn't want the scrutiny. Want proof that Gore is a
hypocrite? Remember last year when the news of his $20k monthly
electric bill hit? Well this year he is using EVEN MORE electricity.

I just don't get it either. How many deep sea platforms are sucking oil
out of the ground all over the world without any problems? Aside from
that Exxon tanker the Valdez what other big problem has there been in
getting oil out of Alaska? Hell, the caribou love the pipeline because
it gives off heat in the dead of winter. Plus, these off-shore oil
platforms are 50+ miles from shore and can't be seen unless you're
taking a serious boat trip. We could have been energy independent two
decades ago but we have ****-for-brains politicians. I think these
assholes are finally getting the message that the public is getting fed
up with their self serving bull****. The first sign is that McCain has
done a 180 and is getting a clue that we want more domestic drilling AND
he is making it a campaign issue. I think a big reason the oil
speculators are running a muck is because they have no reason to believe
the liberals in control of Congress will let the oil companies drill in
ANWAR, off-shore, on public lands etc. All the while world demand is
continuing to increase. Just passing laws to allow for more domestic
drilling will cause oil prices to drop like a rock.

Iraq has reached a deal with the Western oil companies to further
develop their output by approximately 600,000 bpd. If the Feds would
open up domestic drilling now the price of oil would free fall just on
the expectation of the future production it will yield. I won't even
get into the fact that our wonderful government won't let Brazil sell us
cheap ethanol because they are protecting USA farmers. Since Brazil
uses sugar cane to produce ethanol they are much more efficient at it.
We use corn which isn't but it props up corn prices and increases our,
and the world's, food costs. Talking about this just makes me mad as
hell over how our own government is screwing, us, the very people they
are sworn to serve.

So many people are turning Al Bore into a God with the power to save
the earth. Not just here in the USofA, but around the world as
evidenced by his movie awards and Noble prize. What BS. This is the
same Al Gore that 30 years ago was reaping wealth from the "nuclear
winter" threat. What a con artist. What an eletist. Such people don't
give a tinker's damn about the common man. They don't give a damn
about truth or proof. Just as long as they reap the rewards... and
there are literally BILLIONS involved in "trying" to solve the worlds
ills, whether they really exist or not... as long as people are
convinced they exist and are convinced people like Bore are trying to
save them. Sadly, the ones who fall for his malarky the quickest are
those who would rather hug a tree than hug a human, rather save a
lizard than save a human. The environmentalists are easy pickings for
the "rain makers" and "snake oil" peddlers who prey on their
weaknesses... plants and animals.

Few people make note that deep down in the artic and antartic are
signs that both were once tropical or subtropical. Evidence of
reptilian life has been found in Antartica. Reptiles are cold blooded,
and require the sun's heat to survive.... and even to digest food.

Man has not existed on this sphere long enough to have any real idea
of how the planetary mechanics which lead to ice ages or global
warming. How can anyone really predict the future when they have no
idea what caused things in the past? How can the use a computer to
model something when they don't have all the bits of data to compile?

As many top scientists are beginning to say (and some have said all
along) they don't really know.

I'm no right wing zealot, but I agree wholeheartedly. Hell, they
should've started drilling in Alaska and Florida years ago.

Whoever gets elected in a few months needs to go get all that oil from
Iraq that we should've had for years now.

just off the LA coastal range. And our own government won't help it's
own. Not that it does us much good if we don't have the refinery

The environmentalists wouldn't let them build the refineries anyway.
Just like they won't let them drill in ANWAR, off-shore or anyplace that
might have a titmouse living within 500 miles of a drilling site. The
liberals love the fact oil prices have skyrocketed. Listen to Obama's
solutions and they contain no provisions for increasing oil production.
He thinks we can all suffer the high prices while we wait on fuel cell
powered cars that fart butterflies from their exhaust pipes.

The government could solve much of this problem in a few days or weeks
of crafting good legislation. They could open up drilling sites,
mandate more refining capacity and require the oil companies to store
larger volumes of oil and/or refined products to buffer price increases
from OPEC. Then they could get serious about promoting alternative
fuels in a serious and intelligent way which would be the end game for
true energy independence.

When the government makes far more money from a gallon of gas than the
oil companies and the government does NOTHING for it I can't see where
blaming the oil companies is all that realistic. They just play the
hand the government deals them for the most part. Even if the Democrats
collect the windfall profit taxes they have no plan to give it back to
the consumers. It will go the way the billions from the cigarette
companies paid which is into the government spending abyss.
