1.9 JTD 156 Cambelt(s)
My brother and I bought a pair of 156's four and a half years ago. Mine
has done 35000 and his 66000. We purchased new cambelts, tensioners, idlers and water pumps and set about changing them yesterday. All went well and it's as easy as we were led to believe. The only noteworthy observation was that my orginal tensioner was incorrectly set! So from new, although the belt was tight, any slack caused by rapid acceleration was not being taken up by the tensioner!! Just shows you! Incidentally, both old belts along with water pumps, idlers and tensioners look almost as good as new. The quality of the parts looks excellent. |
