:How they in good conscience allowed that race to
: resume without RG either in the proper spot or parked
: is beyond me. The whole world knew he was going to spin Ambrose. Yet
: NASCAR does nothing to prevent it and a result,
: the driver, team and sponsor suffers.

I agree 100%. They should have red flagged the race, and pulled him out of
the race if he wouldn't move to the proper position.

I was at the race (in T1) and the local/full course yellows were kind
of chaotic (actually the opening green flag didn't fly until half the
grid was past the starters stand), so nobody will ever know if Gordon
got past Ambrose cleanly or not, but it looked like the pass meant
Gordon was a lot slower out of the corner and Ambrose got a better
bite, racing incident in my mind. Agree about the Gordon tantrum
thing after that.

Actually what really reminded me of sim racing was Patrick Carpentier,
right after he took the checker in 2nd he thru the car into a long
backwards spin for the fans just like most guys in our league do!

This is exactly my thoughts on the situation, Nascar had a chance BEFORE the
restart to do something about a driver who was intentionally flouting their
rules, and they did nothing. IMO, he should have been stopped on the track
and physically removed, if required, if he could not comply with a simple
request from race control.
As far as the restart with the big crash right behind the leaders, if you
watch the tape as Robby and Marcus go out of the frame, Robby has his bumper
right to Marcus' quarterpanel, and the next view from the cameras shows
Marcus repaying Robby, or, if you prefer, racing just like Robby was racing.
Robby did not get screwed, Marcus did.......Robby should have his card
pulled indefinitely. Pathetic all around.

I know we all like to see good old fashioned racing and sportsmanship, but
don't you think, just for a moment, that the drama that spurned all these
comments was in itself pretty damn funny? I mean I feel bad for Ambrose and
figure he was cheated out of a win, yet I was very entertained by Robbie's
antics and if they had put them together after the race, like Michael Vicks
dogs, I would have been further entertained.
