On Board Sound & Papyrus' GPL and NR2003
Can anyone point me to some info on getting GPL/NR2003 to work with a
Realtek based onboard sound. I'm building a new rig for a buddy and all was well with NR2003, the Ratbag games, etc until I installed GPL. Now both GPL and NR2003 sound like there is a lawn mower running in the background. I have tried updating both the motherboard and sound "card" drivers, but neither one helped. TIA MadDAWG |

Go to the sound page & move the sound acceleration slider to 'basic' (one above 'none'). Malc. |

i had issues with GPL sound on Abit AV8 using onboard Realtek with 3.68 or
3.69 drivers. The car sound was really high pitched and unbearable after about a lap.If i turned the speaker volume up ( the physical dial on the speakers and the software volume down), the sound became normal for a while but eventually reverted. The 3.69's were slightly better in this regard than the 3.68's.Nascar sound seemed ok with any drivers, it was only GPL. I've solved this problem (so far), only had this board a week, by going to 3.61 drivers -- Steve H "MadDAWG" > wrote in message ... > Can anyone point me to some info on getting GPL/NR2003 to work with a > Realtek based onboard sound. The Win98 drivers don't support 5.1 surround so my subwoofer is now a
foot stool. There is a bit of crackling in NR but other the lack of base they sound good enough for me. |

Make absolutely certain you don't have 3D sound checked in N2003.
You could also try the kX drivers. "MadDAWG" > wrote in message ... > Can anyone point me to some info on getting GPL/NR2003 to work with a > Realtek based onboard sound.
