98 Intrepid loses oil and smokes?

Hello,
I just got a 98 Intrepid with 100k miles on it, 6 cylinder. It runs great
and the oil is clean, but when it is idling, smoke billows out from the
muffler. It has lost 2 quarts of oil in 700 miles. I put a quart of
Lucas in it, but hasn't helped yet.
Does anyone know what engine component it could be?
