If it's a skin that you already have, it's loaded locally, otherwise
the joining client's skin is downloaded to you - this is not in the MP
test, we're still working on it. We're not planning on getting real
elaborate with the placeholder car thingy, it's just a quick fix to
eliminate the joining lag. (in fact, we will eliminate it if we can
thread the car loading). thx for the feedback

Speaking for myself, I'd be happy to see the whole skin upload/dload
process delayed until a change of session, probably just race ie when the
race session is reached no one can get to the grid until all skins are
swapped. Making this optional from the client end would be good too of
course, especially for 56k-ers.

What is/will be the min/max skin filesize?

THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT. Why do people insist on asking useless and
pestering questions? Its like bringing a 5 year old to work with you.

Seems like a constructive suggestion rather than a question. Which is
exactly the point of releasing an early test version isn't it?
