When I was young, my family lived close to Illinois 173 and drove it often.
It had been paved by then. :-)

Loves Park is north of Rockford, quite a ways west from where we lived, in
Antioch.

You were almost in the drink! Paving saved a lot when it came but I
remember the tickety-tack of gravel on roads and one highway.
BTW, isn't this a truck?

It is a truck, drek. We were about 15 miles from the Lake. No problems with
flooding!
