I cannot stand the car running at such high temperatures. But, 242 is
the top of the chart so you are well within the overheat condition. The
factory radiator is too small and has plastic tanks. I installed a new
all aluminum one with twice the capacity. The car runs at 193
consistantly. I ahve replaced the waterpump three times in twelve years
so they are bound to fail. Also, you really need to check the radiator
cap to make sure that it is holding pressure. If it is not you will run
hot too. Go to the dealer as the aftermarket caps are not worth the money.
