in that case, maybe i'll try to fix the old one. one of the connectors broke
off and has been repaired before, but using some crappy glue or epoxy (from
the looks of it). maybe i'll try...

turns out it was the ignition switch. thinking i'll just replace it with one
from mamotorworks. what's the easiest way to get it keyed to work with my
current key?

installed a new carb on a 67 bug and tuned it according to john muir's
instructions. seems to run fine at idle (about 850-900rpm according to the

i'm with retired vip on this one. it's easy on these things to not close
them fully. make sure you keep pressing the close button until it's all the
way back AND then all the way up into the closed...
