i don't mean to insult you so if I am please forgive me. Many clutch
master cylinders have a deep cup shaped gasket/air displacer under the
lid to the master. By any chance did you take...

I'll bite....
Loose slipping belt. Tighten and or it or if it's and automatic
tensioner replace the belt and or the tensioner.
