Braking Time 100-0

Do anybody know how long a 1996 BMW 328i should take to come to a dead stop from 100km/h? Dry flat tar road, driver response time excluded. Thanks! Paul |

In practice it will probably be a bit more than this, since you won't be able to pull 1g. |

Autocar in the UK test braking distances as well as performance figures, and it's quite common for cars to beat 1G from those sort of speeds on a grippy test track. -- *If PROGRESS is for advancement, what does that make CONGRESS mean? Most good cars, including BMWs, do it in about 175-185 feet. That's probably in the 3 second range. Road and Track tests 60-0, you might check their back issues. Floyd |
