Hi Bert!

Long time, no hear, and all that. The Sud looks wonderful. One day
(maybe) I'll get the 116 and the Sprint out of storage :(

I didn't even know the page was still there, TBH. Glad you're still
using it at least :)

That's a great car Bert, many congratulations on keeping the Alfa looks
and improving the performance. I had a Sud in 1982/3, a 1.1 I think, and
it was brilliant. A quick performer and handled like a dream as do all Alfas
of
course. I had to get rid of it when a company car came along but I've got
another
Alfa now and an excellent motor it is too.

There are not too many Suds around in Britain these days, it's terrific to
see
one again.

Well, newsgroups are a thing of the 20th century, of course so are my cars.
I check here at least once a week but even the guys with 156 topic are gone
it seems.
Iīm considering trading my Lancia Montecarlo for a 750A series ī59
Giullietta Sprint that somebody I know has, with closed wallets. My MC
dropped a valve or something and is a non runner, the Sprint is a bare body
with the nose detached and all the parts in boxes (the engine in a shopping
cart). I need to mail the guy an honest description of my MC and get some
more info from him about completeness and work needed for the Sprint. But
would love to have the ī59 even with the 65 hp engine I donīt need another
boy-racer at my mature age. If the deal goes through, Iīll post here.

Never been bettered, IMHO, but I accept they are pretty much dead.

Ditto. Wish I had space to have mine near. They've been in store for
some years now :(

I'm still here with my 2002 156 JTS and its various eccentricities, I just
don't worry about them any more!

Its latest one is a cough: its fine if I accellerator hard or gently, but
medium accelleration and it splutters, coughs and beep-beep-beep- 'Motor
Control Failure Go To Dealer'. I just back off for a moment (less than a
second), until the cough has finished then accellerate hard instead and its
fine. Someone (Catman?) said its probably the throttle sensor on the pedal,
so I'll squirt it with WD40 when I'm next in the shed and see what happens!

I don't believe they do. Last time I looked, I found a bit down the back
of the sofa, but it's all gone again.
