Two Beaners Arrested for Hit-and-Run Death of Beaner in Wheelchair
Two people were arrested Monday in connection with the hit-and-
run death of a wheelchair-bound man in Pacoima last month, police announced Tuesday. Manuel Dejesus Segovia Gonzalez, 40, of Pacoima, was crossing southbound Terra Bella Street just east of Cayuga Avenue about 8 p.m. Sept. 26 when he was struck by a vehicle which did not stop, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Gonzalez was dragged approximately 100 feet. He was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital by paramedics. Tatiana Cacho, 24, of Pacoima, and Christian Olvera, 23 of North Hollywood, were taken into custody a few blocks from where the victim was fatally struck. Cacho was booked for felony hit and run and was being held on $50,000 bail. Olvera was booked for being an “accessory after the fact” and was being held on $25,000 bail. A 2005 Cadillac SRX which detectives believe was used in the collision was impounded. According to police, anonymous witnesses viewed media coverage of the incident and provided police with leads which led to to the arrests. “Leads from the community were instrumental in locating the suspects,” police said in a statement. Anyone with additional information should call the LAPD Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000. http://www.postperiodical.com/two-ar...run-death-man- wheelchair/?google_editors_picks=true |
