My older brother had a 1950 Chrysler Newport, unrestored but in very
usable condition. I drove it briefly about ten years ago. It was a
beast! No power steering, etc. 1950s cars were certainly a different
experience than contemporary cars.

Oh yeah Dave, I have a 1955 Kaiser Manhattan with Hydra Matic
transmission power steering and power brake.
When I use to drive my father's 2 year old Kaiser, I thought it was
the cats ass and that there couldn't be anything better. Now I
drive the 55, which is a brand new car in all respects, and I say
nice car, but I'll drive my Lincoln thank you.
