Timing on 318 Dodge engine
 
Well my 2001 318 shows that the dizzy points at number 6 and the timing marks are together but when i get it to the number 1 the dots r up at 12 on both cam and crank any ideas on what I can do other than rolling my plug wirers

If you're saying that with number on at TDC the timing marks on the cam&
crank don't point at each other you need to remove the chain and reset
it to be correct.
If it isn't set correctly the engine won't run.
Next the distributor on that engine doesn't control timing, it does
however control injector pulse. It has to be on # 1 with #1 at TDC on
compression or the injection won't fire properly either.

Did you take the distributor out to do your work? If so...
Pull the distributor out an inch or two.
Turn the distributor shaft 180 degrees.
Put the distributor back in.
