Turn Signal Relay
 

Hi,

I have a 99 chrysler intrepid and one of the problem is that when I
activate the turn signals, the signals blink once and dies out. So I
am thinking that the problem is with the turn signal relay as it stops
giving out the clicking noise.

I bought a turn signal relay and I don't know where to put this relay
in the fuse box. I have looked at the manual and the fuse cover panel
and there is no indication of the location of the turn signal relay.
Does anybody know the exact location on where to put this relay?

Try looking it up on Autozone's website. They are usually quite
informative on such issues--try Advance, too. Or, Google "location of '99
..........". Self-help, I know. But, HTH; maybe even permanently ;). s

Turn Signal Relay
 

COMBINATION FLASHER LOCATION
The Turn Signal and Hazard Warning Flasher is combined into one unit called
a Combination Flasher (Combo-Flasher) The combo-flasher controls the
flashing of the hazard warning system and the turn signal system. An
inoperative bulb or incomplete turn signal circuit will result in an
increase in flasher speed.

The combo-flasher is mounted to the in-line bracket which is located to the
right of the Junction Block. The flasher can be removed by pulling in an
rearward direction. The left under panel silencer duct must be removed to
access the flasher. The combo-flasher is black in color for ease of
identification.

I dont understand where the junction block is. Can you send me a
picture to my email address: to show me
where the combo-flasher is located. Thanks for the idea.

Did you mean junction block as a fuse block? I know where the fuses
are located and I have looked at the fuse location diagrams and there
is no indication of location of the combo-flasher. I can see 6 black
colored relays but I need to know which one refers to the combo-
flasher. Thanks

Turn Signal Relay
 

I located the flasher. Now the hardest part is to take it out. It
looks like this flasher is attached to something else. When I pressed
my hazard signal, i felt a movement in the flasher and I am pretty
sure this is the part. But this flasher does not resemble with the new
flasher I have bought. Any ideas on how to take it out? Please let me
know ur email address if I have to send you a pic of this. Thanks

I own 2 2nd gen. LH cars, but to be honest, I have never had to mess
with the flashers. All I know on that is what I have read in the FSM
and on 3 LH car forums that I frequent.

First off - how many terminals does your new flasher have on it? Most
cars have only three. The LH cars have a 5-pin flasher. If yours
doesn't have 5 terminals, take it back and get the right one.

I suggest you go to www.dodgeintrepid.net forums and post your question
there - plenty of people there have hands-on experience with the
flashers. I do recall reading posts there saying how difficult it is
getting the flasher out of the holder. I believe I have seen suggested
more than once just to leave the old one in the holder and plug the new
one into the electrical socket - that's all that matters - and let it
dangle, or wire tie it to something nearby.

I am new to this car stuff. What is FSM and LH?

My new flasher has 5 terminals. This is the one I bought from Canadian
Tire when I told them my car make, model, year and engine.

LH = Chrysler Mid-size (Intrepid, Concorde, LHS, etc.) Platform
