Black stuff by Steve Byatt
OK... I want no lectures about how I should have done my research before buying a car with dimply black stuff, and I don't want anyone ranting at me when I go on to mention that our nearest Halfords is 25 miles away (and no doubt someone will even check the locations of all Halfords shops in...

Blower Kit for late 80's Spiders???? by mcardlejl
Hi all, Does anyone know if anyone ever made an aftermarket supercharger kit for late '80s alfa spiders??? I'm not looking for anything fancy, the parts I'm primarily looking for are a small compressor and mounting bracket combo that will bolt to the car on the airbox side of the engine bay. The...

Blown 147 sidelight bulb.... by cupra
I was about to attempt its' replacement the other day - I can see why people have had problems! Fortunately I'd left it switched on and as I wiggled the connector, hey presto, it worked! Saved a few swear words!

Blown Engine 2.0ts 156 by Liam McLaughlin
Hi guys, long time no lurk. Have been incredibly busy with work leading to an increase in mileage, but a decrease in adequate care and attention for my lovely 156 (Toadyyy on the group website). Lo and behold she's been running low on oil for far too long and I've shot the engine to sh1t. Big ends...

Body computer; Warranty Direct , Ideas? by PhilipS
Central locking packed up on the 147, diagnosed today as the body computer. Bought a Warranty Direct Gold policy earlier this year, as the 3 year manufacturers had run out. Looked fairly comprehensive, fairly good reports, no 'wear and tear' exclusion... Garage v helpful as usual, but they...

Body shop in south Wales by Michael Anthony
Hi all. I've decided I can no longer go on abusing my Alfetta GTV as a daily driver so, now that I've inherited a second car, I've decided to thrash that into the ground instead and get the Alfa 'tidied up'. Does anyone have any thoughts on a decent body repair shop in south Wales, near me I have...

Bonnet cable.... again by SteveH
I've done a lot of searching, but can't find anyone who sells 75 bonnet cables. Does anyone know if they're still likely to be available from main dealers? - I know I don't, technically, need one for the MOT - but I reckon any tester would be a tad ****ed off at having to fiddle around to pop the...

Boot lid does not open by Florian Pigorsch
Hi all, I have a problem with the boot lid of my 147: if I try to unlock the boot lid using either the remote control or the button at the car's panel and the car has not been moved shortly before, the lid does not open and the indicator lights are flashing once. If you do the same procedure...

Boot lid lever by R D S
Has anyone else questioned the sense of having the boot lid and petrol cap lever side by side? I flicked the boot open the other day in error instead of the petrol cap, realised what I had done and flicked the petrol cap open, then went through the car wash having not shut the boot. It was a...

Boot not closing on 147 by Tom
Hi, The boot on my Alfa 147 has suddenly stopped locking when I close it. It's been used several times today with no trouble but then on my last attempt to close it, it wouldn't lock closed. I've tried several times and also sprayed the lock with WD40, which didn't make any difference. Has...
