E30 325i Outside temp by David Haggas
My 1990 325 has a factory outside temperature display/date/digital clock in place of the analogue clock or OBC. It has always been highly reliable and accurate since I bought the car 17 years ago but recently it is showing approx 10C below the actual temp. Anyone know where the sensor is and if...

Help: E28 Turns Over But Won't "Catch" After 6 Mos Sitting by [email protected]
Help! My '85 535i had a dead battery and sat for 6 mos (under a car cover). Now the battery's good, 1/4 tank of good gas, turns over just fine but the engine won't catch. I've jiggled all the fuses, disconnected and reconnected the battery negative cable to reset the computers, still just runs...

Brake bleeder advice by John Burns
I've never actually had to bleed brakes before. I normally just have the fluid replaced every two years when I get the MoT done. But I'm fitting larger brakes to my wife's E28 M535i and it looks like it's time to take the plunge and do it myself. Can anyone recommend a good brake bleeder from...

e34 535 electrics by FairKop
howdy, i have an annoying quirk on my '89 535 sport. Every time i start the car up, the display language changes. This means i can only understand any messages 2 out of every 7 times! english(uk)+english(us). It's more irritating than problematic and i suppose it's helping my foreign...

What can a dealer change in the programming by Robert[_9_]
I have a 2005 325i and I just had to have the windshield replaced due to a crack from a stone. When I drove it away from the glass shop, the door now locks automatically. It did not do this before, and I prefer it not to lock. I assume it did this because the wiring in the windshield for the rain...

2004 330i Sport using oil by Bob Hobden
My 330i M Sport is using a lot of oil, my local BMW garage says it's within tolerance but I know it's at least pretty close if not outside but can't prove it. BMW's tolerance for oil use is one seventh of a litre in every 1000 Km. (620 miles) Their suggestion was to ensure the level was always at...

E28 OBC question (where is it!) by John Burns
My OBC ('85 UK M535i) has been showing PPPP since I bought the car, time and date fns work OK but nothing else. I'm really struggling to find the relay box for the OBC. I can find the bonger and there's a space next to it in the rack under the steering wheel that I suspect is for the module....

I'm looking at the new 5 series on the BMW (UK) site. They offer a choice of either Satnav - Business or Satnav - Professional. Can anyone explain the difference between the two? Thanks Martin

20's on 2002 325Ci by [email protected]
I found a real nice set of Foose DF-5 wheels but they only come in 20". Would this be a good idea to or am I looking for trouble with a wheel this size on this car? I am told they will fit.

'95 318i A/C by [email protected]
I've got a '95 318i that we're doing some A/C work on. What I need to know is how much oil to use in the compressor to keep the system running optimally. I'm not great at auto repair and will be working with my father-in-law. He's got the experience, just doesn't know how much oil to use in the...
