166 stereo by
PeterMcC
Stereo suffered a progressive collapse over about 12 hours, no cassette,
then no CD player, then no radio, then nuffink.
The 166 stereo is built into the central control panel - there isn't an
actual radio unit, hence the Alfa dealer's initial suggestion of going to
Halford's and buying a...

Alfa romeo workshops in eastern europe? by
[email protected]
Hello,
I just received word from my workshop here in Norway that my Alfa 156
SW needs a new servco pump and a new exchaust pipe - setting me back
roughly 30 000 norwegian, or somewhere around 5000 dollars.
I've heard of people taking their cars to workshops in central/eastern
europe instead, where...

Climate control 147 by
DrLargePants
Anyone had the dual zone climate control pump out cold air from one
side and hot from the other when both dials are set to 'low' ?
The cars also started making some odd rumbling noises when the climate
control is on, not all the time, but sounds like somthing rubbing
against something else.
What...

Alfa 156 2.0 spark plugs by
[email protected]
Hi,
I need to change splark plugs on my Alfa 156 2.0.
Mechanic recommends me Champion splark plugs because NGK are not
available.
Is Champion a good choice and how does it compare to NGK and Bosch?
Thanks.

Cambelt change on a 156 by
Stuart
Hi,
I have decided to change the cambelt on my 2002 Alfa 156 which has covered
45K miles before the inevitable happens.
Can anyone recommend a decent garage around either Milton Keynes or St
Albans and advise how much this will cost??
Thanks
Stuart

156 Sportwagon Stereo Help by
[email protected]
Just got a 2003 156 Sportwagon but someone has been meddling with the
sound system and ditched the standard head unit for a 9 year old
Blaupunkt RNS149 navigation unit which I am not bothered about keeping.
I have three problems:
1. None of the steering controls work - I understand I can purchase...

Boot lid lever by
R D S
Has anyone else questioned the sense of having the boot lid and petrol cap
lever side by side?
I flicked the boot open the other day in error instead of the petrol cap,
realised what I had done and flicked the petrol cap open, then went through
the car wash having not shut the boot.
It was a...

oil pressure problem by
XY
Hello,
i have a problem with my Fiat Croma 2,5TD. Actually when I start the
engine (cold or hot) the oil pressure lamp stays on for 10-30 seconds. The
indicator is checked and I have tried to change oil filter and there is no
change so, I think the lub oil pump needs time to increase the...

camshaft position sensor by
R D S
I bought a diagnostic thingy to see why my 156 is complaining and running
like a dick.
Apparently the fault is coming from the camshaft position sensor.
Is this the type of thing I can entrust to local garage or would a
dealer/specialis be better?
Cheers,

Alarm wont disable by
[email protected]
My GTV alarm is on but won't switch off when I press the button on the
fob. The fob has a new battery and the car emits a small beep when I
press the button but nothing like the noise it makes when it used to
switch off.
I have all the original keys including the dark red box which comes
with the...

Alfa 156 - Suspension bush replacement by
Malcolm Osborne
There has been a fair amount of discussion on this subject, but my question
is - to replace all relevant bushes on the front suspension, how many bushes
are involved?
I want to get a quote from a non-franchised garage to do the job, to compare
with a dealer charge, but he hasn't done this work...

147 Air-con drain by
Dominic
My 147 needs the mod to the air con drain, to save the
passenger footwell carpet! Was in for its 3600 mile
service yesterday, it's less than 3 years old (3 years next
jan) so I was assuming they'd fix it. Ooh noo, 3rd year
warranty doesn't cover air-con pipes. They wanted an hour
of labour...
