AC Tension Pulley is too low by Eli Mendez-Villegas
On my 1984 325e, the AC tension pulley is set too and keeps getting banged with the speed bumps and parking limits. Has anyone ever encounter this problem? If so, what was done to resolve the issue?

rubber coupling between trans / driveshaft by Chris D'Agnolo
I have a deteriorating rubber coupling that connects the tranny to the driveshaft on a 93 325i. I've purchased the replacement part (ouch, $140 from dealer) but I'm wondering how simple / difficult this replacement will be. Looks simple but in the Haynes manual, it talks about removing the exhaust...

Door panel clips glued? by JC
My 318ti door panels have plastic retainer clips "glued" to the fiberboard. It almost feels and looks like a glob of hot melt glue. Several have popped off. Can't imagine what kind of glue will stick to the plastic and the wax like factory glue. What do I use to reattach? Thanks!

Cheap Imports? Beware of fraud by themoomoo
Doug Smith, St Albans Fake "Car Importer" I just thought I better share my recent, very bad, experience. I was given the name and number of someone who claimed he could get very good deals on new cars. The cars were imported but we were talking a 50% discount! Sounds too good to be true but...

Inspection II by [email protected]
I have a certified 2001 325ci . How vital is it to get the inspection II done in order to keep my certified warranty active? That is how many miles can I go over before my warranty is voided? I do plan on having it done it's about 350 miles over now and I was on a trip for New Year's when I went...

Snow Chains not allowed? WTF? by Jason G
I'm heading up to ski on Monday, and was going to go pick up some snow chains for the 330Cic. I look in my manual, and it first discusses how I should only by overpriced "official BMW" chains from the dealer, blah blah blah fine whatever. Then is says: "You cannot mount snow chains on the...

1998 740iL Navigation System by kae
My 740 started experiencing an ejection problem last week and I am totally dependent on my NavSystem. When I insert the disc, after about 20-30 seconds it ejects and the nav screen reads, "CD not loaded..(or something along those lines) Hoping it would be something simple, one dealer I spoke with...

Good bike rack/receiver hitch for E46 330i? by GRL
Can anyone recommend a good receiver hitch and bike rack for said hitch that would fit an E46 330i? Emphasis here is on the receiver hitch. Don't want to do any welding or more drilling than absolutely necessary. Powder coated would be nice. Thanks. - GRL

Rain Sensor Help needed please. by Andy
I have a 1999 328ci with rain sensor fitted. I only bought the vehicle a few weeks ago, but the rain sensor seemed to work fine. I now notice that whenever I put the wipers into intermittent/rain sensor position (position 1), they just work like normal intermittent wipers. I.e. they just wipe...

Average life of 3 Series clutch by tim
It seems I may either have a worn clutch, or perhaps an oil leak of some sort, which is causing my 2000 318Ci to 'judder' when pulling away from stationary. I spoke with a colleague at work today who had exactly the same problem on her 316, which on investigation revealed a 'shiny' clutch...

The All-New 2006 3 Series by Cutiebunny
Hello there, have you been to BMW's website? I saw their new 3-series today and I was relieved to see that it doesn't look as bad as the 5-series. Overall it looks fine, although I still prefer the hood on the current 3-series, in which the kidney grills are built into the hood. The new 3-series...

WTB: BMW 733i toolkit replacement. by Mark
I've recently purchased a BMW 733i, and it's missing just about everything in the toolkit. Any way to replace these items without second-guessing at the hardware shop? Could a premade kit, perhaps from BMW themselves, be available? Located in Sydney, Australia TIA -mark

99 M3 burning oil? by Kanwar Dhaliwal
I have a 99 M3 Coupe which went lost 3 out of the 8 quarts of oil since my last oil change (5k miles). It is unlikely that the shop forgot to top of the oil so I am wondering if my car burns oil. I have heard that bimmers do burn more oil than most cars, especially when driven aggresively. Is this...
