Tyre recommendations please - A6 by
Nev Arthur
Hi group,
Just wondering about people's opinions of good tyres to fit to
the '96 model A6 that I have. It's a 1.8 so no need for
performance tyres, and I would prefer something with less tyre
noise than I'm getting at the moment.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Nev

Headlight replacement for '98 A4? by
Paul Dhuse
I'm not too happy with the headlights on my '98 A4 Quattro (US spec).
Are there easy replacements available? Euro type lights?
The only ones that I've found so far, are the ones at Importvision Motorsports.

Thanks.

Recently bought a 98 Audi Cab (UK) and can't figure out what's wrong
with the radio or electric aerial. Hope the following makes sense and
someone can help or offer any suggestions/advice:
1. The radio fails to switch on when the button is pressed although
the radio does illuminate with the dash...

1999 A6 avant - opinions by
Randy Browning
Thinking of purchasing an 1999 A6 quatro wagon, but with 70,000 miles on the
clock, (although there are 1 or 2 others in that 'neighborhood). They are
all in the $12000 range. I really hadn't considered a car like this, but
when I sat in it, (I'm 6' 4" and it has the best leg room ever) and...

audi concert, cd function by
Darwin McCullough
Has anybody had any difficulty playing cds using the concert radio?
Occasionally, when a cd is inserted, the disc spins up and the display
automatically goes into cd mode. Nothing unusual there, except no sound
comes through. Volume is turned up, the display behaves completely normal.
After a...

2003 A4 3.0 Speed limiting in ECU by
[email protected]
Please don't chastise me. But in the name of science I took my A4 out
on an empty highway near me yesterday. After some test runs up and
down this road to nowhere, looking for speed traps. I tested to see
if it was indeed programmed not to exceed 130MPH. At 135MPH I felt my
question had been...

I got this thing in the mail offering a discount to join AAA. What I
wonder about is, why do they want the persons birthdate? And the
birthdate of each member? Do they really demand it or are just trying
for it. With my fear of identity theft, I feel I shouldn't be giving it
out. Anybody here a...

GUESS WHAT? by
JP Roberts
It so happens that my car has now been suffering from the "steering rod,
upper-control arms" syndrome for a couple of months. Well, it's a '98 so
nothing totally unexpected as the forums abound in which messages can be
found regarding such a problem.
The most incredible has turned out to be that I...

A6 Starting Difficulties by
Graham Smith
Dear All
Has anyone experienced starting difficulties with the A6? My (recently
purchased) 98 2.4 auto tip starts with the first turn of the key most
of the time, but a few times a week (used every day for work, domestic
stuff etc) it doesn't. I then have to coax it into life using varying
amounts...

A4 2.4 V6 SE Timing Belt by
Time Teamer
as the subject is approaching 60K miles I called my local Audi workshop for
a costing on the Timing Belt renewal.
I was surprised to be told, for this model, it should be changed at 40k
miles so will get it done now at their quoted cost £550 to £600.
unless someone here knows a good garage around...

1998 Audi A6 Quatro for $9K. Good price? by
VMI
I recently saw an where they were selling a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro for
$9500. It had only 30K miles. Is this a good buy? If I trade in my car
(it's an '89 old Volvo), it should lower to $8000-$9000.
I've been looking for some time for a nicer car that's under $10K and I
saw this one. I have to...

Quattro not working as advertised - Anyone else experienced this? by
JP Roberts
It so happened that as I got to the restaurant of my choice yesterday the
car park was full and so I decided I would make full use of Quattro to park
by driving up onto a slope (about 12% steep) with only the two right wheels
onto a grass fringe (wet with hail from a recent storm) while keeping...
