The C4/1995 is going to be more fun to drive in my estimation ; it will
be faster, more reliable, and with better technology. You should be
aware that you can get into a good used C5 generation Corvette (1997)
for just a little more than a 1995 or 1996 ; and, the technology is
better still, so...

OT : Beretta Tomcat .32 or S & W Airweight .38 spec ??? by
Dave in Lake Villa
The Dealer im going thru has both of these . Dont know which to get. I
understand that the .32 cal. is the absolute minimum for self defense
but I understand the Tomcat can shoot HP rounds which would make it more
lethal. I love semi autos and i love the size of the Tomcat for CCW. On
the other...

Got the 1970 BB tuned professionally by
Dave in Lake Villa
Took it to Dick Lange Automotive in Waukegan, Il. upon a
recommendation. They have a dedicated Tuner named Bob there that spent
time perfecting it. In addition to setting up the Carb, he recurved the
Distributor , and put a new Distributor gear on the bottom end cutting a
small .030" line in...

High Gas Prices: Will it affect your Corvette driving ??? by
Dave in Lake Villa
Just heard on the tv that the national average is $2.62 per gallon . If
the prices go alot higher...say...over $3.25 , will it cause you to cut
down driving your vette ? Since i use mine for weekends and car shows
(never exceeding 2500 miles per year), it will not affect my usage
whatsoever. Will...

Taking a new Vette for a 'test drive' at a Dealership by
Dave in Lake Villa
Just wondering if anyone here has ran into a problem doing so ? Do they
try to qualify you as a bonified buyer first , or, are they pretty lax
about it ? Maybe theyd be convinced if you pulled up in an older Vette
you own (?) .

Ping : Butcher by
Dave in Lake Villa
Howdy. Did you get your overheating problem solved, or lessened ?? I
see that Texas is approaching the stage of heat only found in Hell !
In addition to the 1970 BB, i also have a 2006 LS2 with a 160 f. stat
installed ; this cooling system is remarkable as when its 98 f. outside
, i can still...

Well, the world is certainly looking grim, isn't it? 85164 by

REPLY: I 'cope' with societal problems by staying close to God in a
personal relationship ; ALL of our cultures moral degradation can be
traced to when America turned its back on God and Godly principles for
living, in favor of becoming a secular nation of hedonism.
Sadly , many many innocent...

'so question is, is the newer one, even with 90k, going to be more
trouble free then the older one.'
REPLY: It most likely will be less problematic than the older one even
given the mileage . It will surely be more responsive than the '76 ;
'76-80 were some of the slowest Corvettes in production...

In many of the groups where fundy dave has trolled, people have asked

77 luggage rack by
Dave Sage
I have a '77 with a luggage rack on the back deck. I'd like to remove it for
re-chroming but I've heard that if I unscrew the fasteners that the nuts
will fall off underneath and are not accessible without removing the gas
tank.
True or false
I had a thought that I might be able to remove the gas...

1969 Corvette by
[email protected]
I doubt that it cant be bent. ; only adjusted using the existing
supports. If you contact Ecklers Tech Dept...they could offer you some
advice -- they sell Corvette hoods. I got my L88 hood from them. The fit
is pretty good on the front, back, and sides. Not much had to be shaved
off the...

Intake Manifold Recommendation - Torker? by
[email protected]
Ernie, I have a 1970 454 . I used to have the Torker on it and its
better than the stock manifold . No problem on hood clearance. But, i
found the warmup characteristics of it not too good. Once the engine is
warmed up, its fine. The Torker is a Single Plane manifold as you might
know, and is...
