Sanden SD-508 repair manual? by DaveC
Sanden used to have a maintenance manual for the SD-508 compressor on their web site but it's since been replaced by one for the later series that differs in many ways. Anyone have a 508 manual downloaded from the Sanden site long ago they'll send me? Thanks, -- DaveC

I'v got a 99 honda accord and I found that the transmission fluid is leaking on the parking lot and the transmission fluid level is dropping. I first realized it after the check engine light came with OBD error code 0740. Took the car to Aamco transmission, told me that I need to replace the trany...

brake inlet hose bolt by [email protected]
Hi All, I stripped the bolt on the inlet brake hose while trying to replace the caliper. I got the new hose but it didn't come with the bolt. Can I use any bolt that fits the thread of the caliper? Is there anything special about the bolt? The car's 98 cavalier 2.2.

Intermittent Starting - 'Lazy' Starter Solenoid or ...? by loadhawg
Intermittent Starting - 'Lazy' Starter Solenoid or ...? I've got a 90 Nissan 240SX 4cyl 5spd w/ about 140K mi. About 10% of the time or more(started recently) you turn the key to start and nothing happens. Try again and it 'usually' starts on 2nd or maybe 3rd try. I've discovered if hold hold the...

I have a 99 GMC safari that was working fine until later today that my tranny started to shift rough (feels like I hit a speed bump), park to the side and cheked the trans oil level and it seems to be within the range, even with the outside temp. at 102 deg. Tranny starts to works fine after...

Methyl Hydrate by mark
I see lots of folks who claim that putting an amount of methyl hydrate in the tank prior to an emissions test, can help lower HC/CO I am considering giving it a try on my older vehicle with a car that is giving me fits being just barely over the edge on both HC and CO, but believe it or not, I am...

Starter Problem - 95 Grand Prix GTP by Aaron407
I'm having an interesting, itermittent problem with starting my 95 GTP. The odd time when I try starting, I will only get a click (starter solenoid I assume) and the interior lights will dim, but the starter will not engage. Usually if I try it again right away it fires up normally, but the odd...

Air Conditioning system recharge...... by LoneStar
My A/C system loses pressure every couple of years to where I must add 134a to keep the system efficient. Instead of paying some shop almost $50 to add refrigerant, I'd like to get one of those coolant recharge kits (Wal-Mart, Pep Boys, etc) and add my own coolant. Question: Since I don't seem to...

Ongoing Pinging Issue w/ 84 GM 2.8L V6 - was it designed to run on 87 or 89 octane? by LoadHawg
My '84 Pontiac w/ V6 has always pinged for 20 some years. The timing appears to be dead on to factory spec. A recent major tuneup didn't help any. It has 144k mi - While it's in a Pontiac I think it's essentially a Chevy engine. Today I tried mid-grade gas (89 vs 87 octane) and there was no...

This is for my friends vehicle. It's a '75 Chevrolet El Camino with the 350cu. He needs the bowl shaped gasket for the tube that comes off of the evaporator and hooks up to the Filter Drier. I've looked in Four Seasons brand catalog and can find them in there. Anyone know a source for older...
