Replace Alternator on Buick 95 Skylark by Big Bubba
I need to replace my alternator on a 95 Buick Skylark. After a quick glance it seems the difficult part is dealing with the belt. Getting the alternator on and off looks simple enough. Can anyone give me instructions, or a link, on instructions on how to do this process? TIA. BR

R13 refrigerant replacement by Tuomas Rantasalo
Greetings, fellow humans. I'm in possession of one '92 Toyota Previa with A/C that needs filling badly. The thing is that it has been using refrigerant of the type "R13". And the a/c filling shops around here all claim never having heard of such. Their response is along the lines: "It's R12, not...

41 MPG city Fusion Hybrid more efficient than Camry Hybrid's 33 MPG by [email protected]
So who still wants a Prius? "The hybrid system for the Fusion and Milan hybrids supports operation in all-electric mode at speeds of up to 47 mph; a smaller, lighter NiMH high-volt battery has greater charge capacity and range than the previous generation battery. The hybrids have a range of more...

mpg Display For Fuel Efficiency ? by Robert11[_3_]
Hello, Would like to revisit this, as I'm still confused. On new GM cars, it's probably the same on all of them I would imagine, when it gives a computed fuel efficiency in mpg on the dashboard display, is it: a computation that is updated every minute, or so ?

wrong MIL bulb lights to flash out DTC's in 94 Suburban? by hillpc
I jumpered A&B on the data link connector to get the "service engine soon" (MIL) light to try to blink out the diagnostic trouble codes. (The thing lights after driving for 10 minutes and then usually turns off after 20 more minutes. I suspect an EGR issue.) Anyway, with A&B jumpered, the "ABS...

Drive axle removal by Art[_9_]
Am I being a bit of a wimp? I am removing the drive axles from my 1998 Altima, a task I have never undertaken before. Removing the passenger side axle posed no problem, but I am unable to remove the driver side axle. The Haynes manual says either pry the inner CV joint out at the transaxle, or...

Motortrend article: 100 MPG+ Chevy Volt, GM's "Moon Shot" by [email protected]
It's an interesting article about how the car with a possible 100MPG+* rating come into being. "It was the equivalent of an Apollo moon shot: The company was going to invent a propulsion system and design an entirely new vehicle at the same time. "We don't normally let people do that," notes GM...

Hectically Printing Money by priyadarsha
Indian Central Govt has 'monetised' Rs. 66,946 crore this year due to rising gap between revenue and expenditure. It can only get worse. The Indian UPA government has completely messed up its finances. With falling tax revenues and immense expenditure increases in an election year, it is crazy to...

General Tire Question by ChrisCoaster
(Not a question about "General TIres" - just a tire question in general!!) ;) As tires wear down over the course of their life, can the ride given by them become harsher/rougher? Or does that have more to do with the aging of the tire rubber itself? My question assumes all other things being...

speed fastener brands by [email protected]
While working on my truck recently I removed some of the plastic push- in fasteners that hold the rubber-like material that separates the wheel well from the engine compartment. I was doing this to get room to work on a part (O2 sensor), and noticed that a convenient bonus is much easier access to...
