competition package for E90 335i? by bfd[_2_]
A friend of mine is considering an E90 335i sedan. He wants the competition package (ZCP) with the lower suspension and 19" wheels. However, that package doesn't appear to be available for the 335i. So, looking at BMW Performance parts, there is a performance suspension package and 19" wheels...

Idle speed on an E28 520 by Dave Plowman (News)
My brother has a much loved '87 E28 520. Done nearly 250,000 miles. He recently had to change the head gasket (and have the head planed) after a hose blew and it overheated, but it's now running better than ever. Except that the idle speed is far too high. He has the Haynes manual - but that's as...

Hello, Until mid 2008, my BMW dealer used to put Castrol oil (SAE 5W30 LL04) in my Z3 (M54 Engine). Before last November, BMW rationalized their stocks, restricting the varieties. At the last Oil Service, they put a thinner oil, rebranded "Original BMW Quality Longlife-04 SAE 5W-30", made in...

E39 -How would you handle this misdiagnosis? by Jeff[_53_]
I have a 99 528i with only 52,000 miles. Since I purchased it second hand, it's always shifted "hard." Last week I finally decided to take it to the local transmission shop. They called later in the day and told me the problem was a "rubber donut" and referenced the center bering. The cost...

bad temp sensor? by Jeff[_51_]
Hello, 1999 528i here.... Was cruising down the highway free as a bird last night with the AC pumping. Next thing you know I hear "BING" and the temp on the dash is reading -40C and the AC quit working. Thought it might be a blown fuse but it was not.
