e46 climate control has mind of its own. by thepixelfreak
So I have a 2001 e46 330Ci. About 6 mos. ago I was merrily driving along and all on it's own the climate control sets the fan speed to max. Mind you the little LED display doesn't change with the fan speed. When it does this the only way to get back to the current setting is to turn climate...

EML light on and engine wiring harness KO'd by Ranger
I've just come back from the local dealer £895 lighter 'cos the EML light came on the other day, the DSC light and the brake wear light so took it to the dealer and was told the wiring harness in the engine was duff. Asked how this fails and was told high resistance so presume there's been an...

1998 E36 (328i) slow coolant loss by Opossum
I have an E36, 1998, 328i. Sometime after 108,000 miles I noticed a slight coolant loss. Amount of loss seems dependant on mileage driven between checks, not ambient temperatures. I have recently replaced the coolant cap. And I have checked the hoses. There does not appear to be a visible...

Sounds basic! but..where to lift and support E46 by roy
Hi. This should be an easy one. I want to get my e46 onto axel stands so I can work on the brakes. The wonderful book of haynes says -jack up using the jacking points -support the car with stands. -when using stands or a jack - use the jacking points so just whip out the jack and get the stands in...

2000 BMW 323Ci Harman Kardon speakers by lyfords
I have a 2000 BMW 323Ci (coupe) with the upgraded Harman Kardon stereo system. The "upper" speakers in both doors (the ones up high by the door handles) are giving me problems... the sound is "crackling" a lot, I'm sure something is "blown" in the speakers there. The thing is, I've found it very...

My car has the same problem but I chose to ignore since it I don't think its worth fixing to always decipher how many miles I've gone. It fixes itself occasionally and then I know.

treehugger.com had an article about E85 conversion kits from Brazil. I have heard lots of different pros and cons about rubber melting and lower milage etc. It states that the kits will work on any car. Any reasons why it wouldn't work for a 2000 BMW? I figure I can just drive down to the local...
